Hello,

I’m Cindy a.k.a. Ms. Grasshopper.

I was born and raised in Vietnam, and my food journey began when I was 12, and my mom had just asked me to cook dinner for her and my dad. Obviously, I’ve got help, but that’s when I found out that I love cooking for others.

The struggle was real when I moved to the States for school and barely spoke any English, and on top of that, it was my first time living with “strangers”.

College was where I developed a big love for cooking. Cooking for myself was easy because I just cooked whatever I wanted and did not have to worry about other people's thoughts and opinions. But the first time I cooked for my friends, seeing their eyes light up and the “yum” sound they made when they tried the food was very satisfying.

I started to cook more for my friends, and they started asking for recipes. That’s when I think I should write it all down and share.

Maybe someone will read it, or perhaps they won’t. Who knows. But if you do, enjoy!

I am now based in Saigon, Vietnam, and own a tea house called Vườn Yên Tea House.
